New photos of an alleged battery that will power the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 have been released, and they appear to show a capacity of 1,810 mAh for the power source. That would only be a modest improvement over the iPhone 5s battery, which is rated at 1,560 mAh.
The new photos, from Nowhereelse.fr, [Google Translate] do show a battery that jibes with a report earlier this month that estimated the 4.7-inch iPhone 6’s battery would be rated at between 1,800 and 1,900 mAh.
While the battery’s capacity would place it behind the power sources for competing handsets, such as the Samsung Galaxy S5, Apple’s tight hardware and software integration may allow them to squeeze more life from the 1,810 mAh source.
Apple is expected to debut the iPhone 6 sometime in September. It’s widely believed the handset will be available in two sizes, 4.7-inches and 5.5-inches. The phones are expected to sport a faster A8 processor, improved cameras, and a thinner profile. The 5.5-inch model has been rumored to be launching after the smaller model, due to manufacturing issues.
