After beta testing for several weeks, Apple has released iOS 6.1.3, which brings numerous bug and security fixes, including a patch for the lock screen security flaw which has been affecting iOS 6 since release. The update also includes a number of improvements to Maps in Japan, once again improving the quality of their own Maps offering in comparison to Google Maps.
You can download the update over-the-air on your iOS device. Simply go to Settings > General > Software update to do so. We’ll let you know once it becomes available through iTunes, and will have direct links available as soon as we have them as well. The update appears to be rolling out gradually, but should be available for all users very shortly.
Update: iOS 6.1.3 also disables some of the exploits used by the Evasi0n untethered jailbreak – so if you want to keep your device jailbroken, we recommend staying away from this update for the time being.
