Believe it or not, sipping that cup of tea or ice cold beer could actually charge your phone for you. A new Kickstarter project, the Epiphany onE Puck, uses the power from the heat or coldness of the drink and converts it to energy perfect for iPhone charging (via CNET).
While a minimum $99 was available, they are no longer any more left, meaning you’ll have to pledge $115 to get your hands on one. $135 will get you a customised version, as well as a T-Shirt.
Epiphany Labs is only $7,000 short of achieving it’s goal of $100,000, so one might as well try to help out.
It’s definitely a very interesting project, and it makes a difference from the standard solar powered charges we normally see. I wonder, would liquid nitrogen speed up the process?
