Rumors, leaked parts, prices and more have all led to this. Apple has just sent out invites for the iPad mini event (via The Loop), which as previously reported will be on the 23rd of October. It will be held in the California Theatre in San Jose at 10AM PDT.
The tagline, ‘We’ve got a little more to show you’, isn’t super specific even though it can and should be interpreted as a reference to the iPad mini, but also possibly to the other loose ends that Apple has to deal with, like new iMacs and a 13 inch Retina Macbook Pro.
The location is somewhat unusual (it’s the first time they’ve used the California Theatre to my knowledge), however that really shouldn’t matter. What’s announced is all that’s important.
The iPad mini is expected to be as thin as an iPod touch, and feature a narrow bezel. The device is expected to sell for between $200 and $300 (1, 2), and will likely resemble a smaller version of the iPad 2. Apple has reportedly already ordered 10 million iPad Minis tor the first few months of sales.
