Following a post yesterday evening affirming that the iPhone 5 part leaks so far have been correct, Rene Ritchie of iMore reports that Apple’s upcoming refreshed iPod touch will include a 4-inch screen with a 16 X 9 ratio, just like the new iPhone.
While the report doesn’t provide any actual details beyond that the device will have a 4-inch screen, Ritchie speculates that Apple is likely to unveil a new model in September alongside the new iPhone, leaving October clear to announce the new iPad Mini.
Ritchie also references a report from 9to5Mac, suggesting that a new iPod nano and iPod shuffle are likely to be announced in September, in various capacities and multiple colors. He further speculates that if Apple releases a 128GB iPod touch, they would finally be in a position to discontinue the iPod Classic.
We won’t know for certain whether this is accurate until Apple takes the stage next Wednesday – but iMore has a great track record, and is typically right on with their predictions. We’ll all find out in a week!
