If you still use Mobile Me, you need to switch, and fast. Apple has sent a reminder out to all those who haven’t yet made the move to iCloud that the service is ending in thirty days time. So any photos, videos or media you have on Mobile Me will be deleted forever if you don’t back it up.

We’ve covered a great tutorial on how you can keep your Mobile Me email address without moving to iCloud, so if that’s what’s holding you back, you no longer have an excuse. What’s more, Apple has extended the deadline for Mobile Me users to claim their 20GB of iCloud storage to September 30th.
There really isn’t much to lose. Yes you have to transition all your data, but you’ll be moving it to a much more up to date service.
Finally, if the issue is one of an operating system, then Apple has offered all Leopard-using MobileMe users a free copy of Snow Leopard to get you on your way. Granted you have to purchase Lion, but you’ll benefit in every way in terms of OS and performance.
Make the move now or suffer the consequences. While iCloud isn’t quite the same service as MobileMe in that the former isn’t really a storage solution, more a syncing solution, there are some great services out there like Dropbox that perform the same role as MobileMe, so there’s no excuse. Get switching, you’ve had more a year to think about it!
