Apple has once again risen above the rest in customer satisfaction, coming in as top dog in the American Consumer Satisfaction Index survey (via MacRumors). Apple scored an impressive 83 out of 100 points, firmly cementing their position at the top, with Nokia trailing behind with 74 points.
The survey is based on responses from 70,000 consumers who answer questions related to customer satisfaction and the quality of the products and services from each manufacturer. This year, Apple was a full 9 points above the industry average of 74 points.
Apple’s ferocious arch-rival Samsung brought in only 71 points, placing them near the bottom of the heap, barely above BlackBerry manufacturer Research in Motion. As MacRumors points out, Apple has set a new standard for customer service – no other mobile phone manufacturer has ever scored more than 80 points on the index! Congrats, Apple!
Besides mobile phone manufacturers, the survey also ranked customer satisfaction among wireless carriers. Sprint came out on top with 71 points, and Verizon trailed just behind with 70 points, while AT&T and T-Mobile tied for last place.
