Apple’s new iPad has clearly been extremely popular. The device has been so popular, in fact, that Apple confirms that pre-orders for the new device are now completely sold out. Shipping dates began slipping just days after the device was released.
According to an official statement given to CNet:
Customer response to the new iPad has been off the charts and the quantity available for pre-order has been purchased. Customers can continue to order online and receive an estimated delivery date. Beginning Friday, March 16, the new iPad will be available for purchase at Apple’s retail stores and select Apple Authorized Resellers on a first come, first-served basis.
That means those of you who want an iPad on launch day, but haven’t pre-ordered yet will have to line up at an Apple Store (or other retailer) to make sure you get your hands on one. If this year follow’s Apple’s previous launches, Apple Retail Stores will begun opening up early in the morning for the launch, or at 5:00 PM after the store briefly closes and then reopens to begin selling the device.
