Microsoft may finally be bringing Microsoft Office to the iPad, reports The Daily, which will directly compete with Apple’s own iWork apps (Pages, Keynote and Numbers).
The report claims that Microsoft is actively working on the project, and the final apps are expected to retail for around $10 each, comparable to Apple’s pricing on their own office apps.
Although the specific titles in the iPad office package are yet to be confirmed, it’s likely that they will include Word, Excel and Powerpoint, although additional app may also be included.
Even though Microsoft is hard at work preparing Windows 8 tablets for market release, it makes a lot of sense for Microsoft to focus on the iPad, as Apple’s popular tablet still currently dominates the tablet market.
The report also claims that Microsoft Office will be coming to the Mac App Store early next year.
