We’ve reported on the rumors of the iPhone coming to China Mobile before, but now a new report is suggesting that the iPhone is on its way to China Telecom’s 106 million customers as well – this may be quite a year for the iPhone.
According to the report, which comes to us from Reuters, Apple and China Telecom have finally come to terms regarding the iPhone, and will begin offering the unit by the end of the calendar year. China Telecom is the third-largest cell provider in the People’s republic of China.
This presents a significant deal for Apple, with some analysts projecting it as a $8-9 billion opportunity for Apple. Now all we need is for that rumored China Mobile agreement to become final and bring the iPhone to their over 600 million customers, and we’ll be cooking with gas!
