Well, the rumors have been flying around left and right, but it looks like the cat is now officially out of the bag. Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer has just announced (as part of Apple’s Q3 2011 quarterly conference call) that Mac OS X Lion will indeed hit the Mac App Store Tomorrow for $30 as a 4GB download.
The new OS packs 250 new features, including a new iOS-resembling app launcher called LaunchPad, new multi-touch gestures, AirDrop technology for wirelessly sharing files with friends, and system wide resume on boot.
Lion includes a ton of new updates and enhancements, most of which we have mentioned before, so feel free to browse the entirety of our OS X Lion-related coverage at this link.
We’ll keep you posted on what’s new and awesome with Lion as time progresses, so keep a close eye out!
