Judging by a comment that Mark Zuckerberg recently made to reporters, Facebook is going to launch “something awesome” next week. I’m not sure what Zuckerberg’s definition of “awesome” is, but an iPad Facebook app fits my definition – what about you?
This seems to be where the common speculation is heading as well – there just aren’t that many easy-to-think-of things for Facebook to be launching next week. Further, whatever that “something awesome” is, it seems to be being built by Facebook’s 40-person Seattle team. The Seattle team is largely thought to be the same team that built Facebook’s unified mobile site in the first place, making them the experts on designing an iPad app that replicates it.
Whatever Zuckerberg has up his sleeve – and who knows what it could be – if it does turn out the be a Facebook app, rest assured that we’ll be on top of providing you the scoop.
