It’s certainly no secret that a new (refreshed) MacBook Air is widely expected to be released soon, but a report surfaced today that the refresh could include models with a black anodized aluminum finished. Could this be the return of the BlackBook? I sure hope so!
Several tips have apparently come in that at least some of the new MacBook air models will be available in black anodized aluminum in addition to the current matte silver aluminum option that the super-slim machines currently come in. The most specific tip suggests that the new color option would be available only on the top-end MacBook Air model.
In addition, further rumors are suggesting that the new models could start with a price point as low as $899 (current models start at $999), which could be Apple’s way of really pushing the new models to enforce their apparent idea that the MacBook Air is the future of portable computing.
Rumors about the new finish are currently unconfirmed, but the possibility certainly is intriguing. Would you buy a black MacBook Air? Sound off in the comments!
