Everything is leading towards an end of year iPhone update.
The iPhone 4 coming to Verizon, the recent white iPhone 4 unveiling, and OS X Lion’s unleashing in the summer are but three reasons why Apple won’t announce an iPhone 5 (or iPhone 4S) until near the end of the year.
And now, according to MacRumors, an AT&T representative has said that Apple informed AT&T that no new iPhone is arriving in June or July.
“Apple has informed us that they do not plan to release the iPhone in the June to July timeframe, though there will be a newer version in the future. Unfortunately, we have not been given a release time for the new phone. We will release this information on our website when it is available to us.” – AT&T Rep.
The rep was speaking to a concerned AT&T iPhone customer who inquired about their upgrade. It’s difficult to put any weight behind something that a rep told a customer who then relayed that information to a website but it does back up other speculation that we will have to wait till the end of the year for the next iPhone.
Traditionally, Apple release new iPhones in the summer months but this year will likely see a break from the norm.
